Did you expect Donald Trump to actually keep this promise of building a wall?

Of course the promise to build a GREAT WALL got this person elected. He has been blowing smoke for years and many were blinded by it. Well, here you go. More wasted money from the tax payers.
Do we really need a commander and chief who has no idea how politics works? A man who makes outrageous promises.

I think it's a bit odd to say that Donald Trump doesn't know "how politics works" when he was just successfully elected President of the United States in his first political race. Like him or not, it's pretty clear he is very successful at politics so far.

LTC Yinon Weiss Donald Trump has made a successful career of being too easy to underestimate - all the carping and finger pointing that has gone on seems to have missed the point that Donald the "actor" has been replaced by Donald the "business negotiator".. Just my .02

Getting elected and being an effective statesman and leader are two distinctly different things. Just look at the outgoing President.

Yes, he literally made his fortune by building large things that other people couldnt figure out how to build.

PFC James Craft You other hero Bill clinton was a draft dodger who went to Russia during the cold war. Yet you have no problem with him. You dont seem to mind draft dodgers, it is successful people that you dont like, that is just loser syndrome manifesting itself

I'm a Conservative, remember the ones Donald Trump said three times that he wasn't and didn't want help from the Conservatives So from that I take you must be a Liberal Democrat like Trump and his best friends the Clinton's. Trump donated $100,000 to Hillary just before he announced that he was running for President. Cpl Joshua Caldwell -

Donald Trump bragged about how good a friends the Clinton's are with his family and how he voted for the winner "Oam" both times. Looks like you have a Liberal/ Democrat on your face.Cpl Joshua Caldwell -

I can't wait till Rossiya comes knocking down our door after the moron pulls us out of Asia and NATO. Start learning Russian, and writing in Cyrillic. We will be Putin's Cyka blyat at some point.

I think he will tax the money going south through Western Union SSgt. The last eight years is a great example of a failure of a Commander in Chief. He placed men in women's restrooms and brought war to the ME, causing the destruction of Europe and the death of thousands of innocents. Is the debt 20 trillion yet? What about the unsecured debt? If you want your doctor, you can keep your doctor.
Trump has not even gotten into office yet. IF he does 10% of what he said he will do, it will be a success compared to DaOne.

Now that you know the official jobs number, here's the REAL unemployment rate
The Labor Department said unemployment was at 4.9 percent in July. But that doesn't quite tell the whole story.

I like the tax money going western union....I not only think it's fair..I believe that it will give that illegal a little sense of pride for doing so and also show that they are willing to pay. There is no reason such taxes collected can be tallied up into that persons "participation record" as it were. Adds a little legitimacy and identification for future reference

SPC(P) Samuel T. - If I take bonus depreciation on a new piece of equipment and shovel that money back into my own pocket for personal use or just spend it on whatever, my picture looks pretty rosy for awhile to......the bill comes back around and nabs you in the ass later... I don't think mortgaging our economy robbing the future to pay for a few votes or jobs today comes under any heading I would want my face pasted over..
He's a shortsighted hack who knew he was mortgaging everyone else's future to pay for his today.. Like the life of the party and the big tipper who can't pay next months rent.
He's no hero.. just a hasbeen with a vengeance.

Well, I have met Clinton when she was Secretary of State and I met Trump in my younger years. I found Trump to be a very genuine person. Sure, he lacks a brain to mouth filter at times but he is not a politician. I am pretty sure that was one of the major reasons he was elected. He isn't a stupid person either, and his presidency hasn't even started.
Do I think we will have a physical Berlin Wall along our border with Mexico? Absolutely not, but I do expect him to make much needed immigration reforms and place a priority on making laws and taking action to remove illegal aliens from our country.
I get it, we are a nation of immigrants. I am a first generation American myself and my father was deported because he was an illegal. However, there is a right way and a wrong way to come into this country. There are economic ramifications for allowing illegals to stay in this country that will negatively impact us as a whole (illegals pay way less taxes on their income than a legal immigrant and a lot of their income is sent outside of the US insted of being spent in the US and stimulating the local economy).
So ya, I'll take a risk over a non-politician because I don't believe in the values, ethics, and sub-par performance of the professional politician Trump beat in the elections.

I think the physical wall is going up and it will be built to funnel those that will still try to areas of easy apprehension

Kurt Harlan - There is truth to this......there is a lot of natural animal traffic back and forth across the border however it is quite predictable as to where it crosses.

Everyone seems to think of this vast wall. The vast majority of these people come across hidden in vehicles.....freight.. rail cars ect. There is about as much real searching of shipments and rail cars at the border as there is searching of inbound freight at the ports. A huge number no doubt come in right under our noses on boats. There is not some impenetrable net here.

A wall can take many forms. Actual ENFORCEMENT of existing immigration laws to stem the tide of ILLEGAL ALIENS would constitute a wall. So pejorative and vitriolic comments aside regarding the President Elect - it is a safe bet that he will not acquiesce to the porous border that Obama acquiesced to. He will increase patrol presence and start to stem the flow. Regarding payment - siezed drugs and assets from Mexican Cartels will be used to defer costs. So SSG Montague - it would seem that despite the prognosticators at Communist News Network a Wall will be built and strengthened along our Southern Border.

It shouldn't be difficult to build a wall now, given the fact 60 million liberals are 'shi##ing' bricks daily.

Shrug....Obama made many greater promises, how many did he keep?
I am just glad we did not get stuck with Hillary.

It isn't about who kept what promises. Trumps ENTIRE campaign was all about this magical wall that Americans want that we will not pay for. And before he is even sworn in he is realizing he spoke before he considered how mass funding works in America, and what will happen if Mexica simply says no.

There comes a time to pick the lesser of two evils, America chose Trump.
A wise choice in my opinion.

I'd just be happy if he'd station and rotate Guard units along the border. We need to do something. Something that isn't being done now. Such as actually enforcing the laws. There juts aren't enough Border Patrol officers to cover the whole thing.
Btw, I congratulate you on your troll post. I'm sure that you didn't get the reaction that you thought you would.
On the flip side, maybe that's what you wanted.

It was never intended to be a troll post. I just like everyone else want to see good changes in America. I am tired of our "leaders" blowing smoke up our asses and lying to cover their own asses. People in Washington will say anything to get ahead even if it is detrimental to Americans.

SSgt Dan Montague - I'm not sure that's 100% accurate. I'm sure that many of the politicians there feel that way. As I'm sure many of them do NOT feel that way. As a nation, it is the fault of the citizens that things are as they are in D.C. We have the power to throw them out, and we fail to do so when they displease us.

SSgt Dan Montague - Maybe you should go out and face that rabid pack of brainless....or at least thought-less rabbits, sheep, and parasites who are the true voting base of the Democratic Party.. I am sure your intelligent arguements would convince them. Of course if they caught bill Clinton doing the unthinkable with a partial birth abortion that Hilary had just performed herself I am sure they could rationalize that...so you may have quite a task cut out for you there.

SSgt Dan Montague - The most distinct difference between a socialist and a parasite is that a successful parasite doesn't kill or disable the host.
Every experiment in socialism, communism, ect. has inevitably failed leaving chaos in its wake and a destruction of the original society which is quite often irretrievably damaged.
The lives of the citizens are ruined, families are dismantled and cultural heritages are buried beneath statues of the socialist idols which they built for themselves to worship.
In the end these people are a terminal illness to a society rather than just a drain.

I think Bernie and Hilary should spawn in rivers near the Bering Straight. The Russian bears will not doubt eat the next generation of democrats which attempt to swim the Bering straight to the spawning grounds in Washington State...I mean why else would judges in Washington state...most of whom probably like to fish.. fight so hard to keep the doors to illegal immigrants open?
