Parents and others raked up piles of leaves and we jumped into them or where playfully tossed into them.<br />When my own sons were old enough to enjoy it I enjoyed tossing them into the leaves and tried to get them to help rake them back up so we had bigger piles to jump into.<br />How many of you enjoyed playing in piles of leaves? I had fun jumping into and being tossed into big piles of leaves while I growing up and I enjoyed passing on the tradition to my sons. When I'm raking and the kids are jumping and scattering them, not so much. But the kids' joy outweighs the extra work for me. I would rake the yard, just so I could do it when I was a kid. Before my parents got the mulcher mower. Now though, knowing how many bugs and crap are probably in a pile of leaves, I try to discourage my kids from doing it. Now I am an adult and have to rake my leaves, but I still throw my kid in the pile. I make him help me rake, and then he jumps in the big pile.
