They say thank you for your service. Not knowing how daily that service truly is, and can be a great burden. Once 31st October is over then everything reverts back as if nothing had happened &amp; stores with stock left over start the sales at half price etc. The whole celebration doesn't really interfere with Veterans/Armistice day, it is celebrated (is that the right word?) throughout towns, villages &amp; churches nationwide - the laying of wreaths, moments of silence &amp; the shedding of a tear, decoration is minimal apart from the poppies &amp; veterans proudly showing their medals.
