Did anyone hear anything about new Type 4 NWUs?

I know they just launched the Navy type 3 NWUs (pictured). My son told me his Chief announced that Type 4s are coming soon. That's awfully quick for another new uniform change don't you think?.

what I don't understand why the fleet needs camo's. I was in the Seabees 71-75 then 81-97 and we didn't get them until 93 I think. I'd just as soon wear are old utility greens especially the cotton.

Navy has been wearing those for a while. When I got out at the end of 2008, they were in the process of switching over.

No way. I think it would suck for all branches to wear the same uniform. That’s just my opinion though.

Stupid ass Army Cav trooper question. Back in the day when I was in the USCG was the only ones not wearing the same uniform to some degree. It saved DOD millions, if not billions, by being able to bulk purchase uniforms for the four branches. Why the change and more importantly, why the rush to judgement on changes? Personally, I like the USAF digital tiger, and the Desert MARPAT of most of the ones I have seen. That said the Army multicam is pretty good. So yeah I admit to liking more than just what my service puts out and orders. And if another branch has an idea that works better, I have no problems going with the best idea no matter who came up with it. Or what they have weighing down their collar. Good ideas are not just limited to the brass.

One reason is because like the blueberries these are not suitable for ship board wear. They are a synthetic blend which is still dangerous to the wearer in a fire.
