DESP Deployment Extension Stabilization Program

I have a Soldier in the National Gaurd who signed up for this program in January. According to the program he is supposed to get 500 per month while they are deployed. He just heard the program was cancelled Jan 1 2014. Can anybody verify the program is still in place or not.

I signed the paperwork for the DESP program for a future deployment coming up soon. If this has been canceled, I was not informed, and proceeded to re-enlist based on it being an ongoing program. I went through my upper command to get this done and none mentioned anything about it being canceled. I will be a bit agitated if this is the case.

I have found the answer based on the link given by MAJ Chang. According to the NGB G1 section chief this program ended 31DEC2013. Thank you all for your help. I hope to be able to use this site for continued cross-pollination in the future. Thanks to Everyone.
