WHAT AN IDIOT!

Kanye West claims he's risking his life like a 'police officer or a soldier in war' because he could slip while dancing onstage.

‘And if I slipped… You never know. And I think about it.’

Adding: ‘I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.’

Not trying to confuse this extremely simple issue with such things like science, gravity, or this supposed sense of entitlement he thinks he lives in but if he fell, he'd fall down go boom, his security team would quickly surround him and protect him from his adoring fans, a team of paramedics would be immediately on the scene to treat his poor little owie.

If Mr. West is that afraid or worried about people he calls his fans he's got bigger problems. Perhaps he should actually live in our world and face the one thing he probably never has, someone who's actual end goal is to kill him.

The compassionate person in me feels genuinely sorry for him. The realist in me thinks he's a genuine idiot.

You would think he would know better. After Tom Cruise took a beating for something FOX News alleged he said, and how publicly entertainers like Mark Wahlberg came out denouncing artists that would even make that claim...

Hey I heard that while in a waiting room I heard that Jerk-off utter those words. I was enraged and said that he his azz could join the military and then he really could. Some WWII laughed at the comment. I really hate that idiot.

That is without a doubt the most ludicrous and asinine statement I have heard anyone entertainer or athlete make comparing their jobs to fighting a war. The idea that dancing and slipping on stage is remotely in the same universe as fighting a war is totally ignorant! I suddenly feel less intelligent for having responded to something so incredulous.....

Gentlemen, ladies, please! We are all being way too hard on Mr. Kanye West.

Who among us hasn't had the almost daily fear of slipping and falling while on stage?

Unlike us, Mr. West doesn't have body armor, helmet, or medevac and well trained medical personnel standing by to help him in case he falls down or becomes tired from dancing and singing. He doesn't have a dedicated military spouse to look after him as we do. He doesn't even get hazardous duty pay.

We shouldn't mock him. Instead, we should help him by allowing him to switch places with somebody in the military so he can at least get the many benefits we have for such hazards!

Is there any 11Bs out there in a line unit that can sing and dance, and that are currently assigned in Afghanistan, that could trade places with Mr. West for a few months? He really needs this break, and just once would like to have the benefits we enjoy for all his hard work. It will be a sacrifice, but you'll be doing it for your country!

No doubt, Kanye West is an eejit. But I also think we should view this ridiculous statement in context. Many Americans compare what they do to combat. The best example is sports, especially the NFL. It shouldn't be shocking that a performer compares dancing to war when very few of us have been there and that many Americans make this comparison for other activities as well. Kanye West is merely speaking in the exaggerated and ignorant vernacular that our popular culture promotes.

clearly the dangers of dancing on stage are well documented for example bottles and flames and the slipping on a wet stage. But he knew the risks involved and he is well compensated for his activities, much more so than even the most highly paid Service member.

I just finished reading and would highly recommend Mr. West peruse Marcus Luttrell's "Lone Survivor" in an effort to more thoroughly educate himself on the considerable hazards associated with actually falling down. Petty Officer Luttrell's unplanned descent down a mountain in the Hindu Kush with a sizeable unhappy enemy force in pursuit with the express intent on killing him might offer Mr. West some perspective about how tiny and insignificant his world really is.

Please don't misunderstand. I get it. Gravity is an equal opportunity evil, and it would be tragic to lose to death or serious injury a true patriot such as Mr. West whose contributions to our great country have been so deep, meaningful and long lasting, but I'm reasonably certain that as a nation, we would recover. The same can't be said when we lose heroes like the members of PO1 Luttrell's SEAL Team.

Yet another sterling example of the decline of our country's culture.
