Dad upset over lesson. Is he warranted to feel this way? Is this partisan politics?

Everytime a person calls out a liberal for something it ends up being that the conservative doesn't know the whole story or they heard it on 'Faux News'. Well, we have another story and most of us get it. It was wrong, it is divisive and it certainly does not lend to free speech.

This is pretty straight-up stuff but there always an answer and it is usually called something like cognitive dissonance, intolerance or some other talking point. Like deductive reasoning or critical thinking. The inference being that we are not smart enough to get open-mindedness.

But what is your take, is this more a teacher caught with her hand or hands in the cookie jar? Are parents intolerant of change? Is all change good?

Schools have become indoctrination centers. The government should not be educating our children because it eventually becomes about indoctrination and not about knowledge.

In the example, as noted in the story, only one side of a Political discussion was illustrated and discussed. The School District acknowledged that. The issue isn't, or shouldn't be left or right but rather teaching critical thinking and leaving out indoctrination of either viewpoint.
If the dad hadn't said something it's likely that bias of the teachers (either way ) would continue to be the order of the day. So, good job speaking up dad.
