DA Photo isn't used for promotion anymore but what about the photo date on ERB/ORB?

Would the board care if someone's ERB/ORB shows "Date of Last Photo" as blank or it was taken a very long time ago?

They shouldn’t, but from what I’ve been told, get it updated to check the box

I wouldn’t want to be the guy who gets his IPERMS checked by a board and they see a photo date that’s 3 years ago. Don’t take any chances, update your photo every year. Just my advice.

It's not used for promotion anymore, but it's still used for selection for nominative and special duty assignments.
We should all still be keeping them current.

I didn’t validate or update my photo and I still got promoted so it showing on the SRB doesn’t really matter at least on the enlisted side! If they want and need bodies they will pick the most qualified regardless!

Sir, as tight as promotions are going to end up-do you really want to give the board to throw your file to the side before it gets a 2nd look?
