CPT Swenson, Medal of Honor recipient, returns to active duty

CPT Swenson, who originally left the Army in 2011, is assigned to I Corps at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., corps spokesman Col. David Johnson confirmed.

Swenson returned to active duty last month, signing in to I Corps on March 14. He is serving as a plans officer at I Corps headquarters.

Nice to know that just because someone is the rare living MoH recipient it does not stop his decision to serve.

I love this. He had to deal with a POS chain of command that buried his MoH because he called out their incompetence. It is sad that I have seen this scenario play out more than once where crappy leaders have ended the careers of good officers. I am pretty sure he is going to get picked up BZ for the rest of his career.

What a great news story! I think if you love something, and you still are able to do it, you should. He is a great American and an example for all!

I think that it says a lot about him as a person and a soldier. I always thought that under different circumstances he would have stayed in. It must have taken a lot for him to make this decision and I for one am glad that he did.
