This sounds like good news that Army CPT Florent Groberg will be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for valor in Asadabad while he is alive instead of posthumously Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS

I only looked at US ARMY Captain and said Hell yes. Capt. Florent Groberg had no control of where his was born but he had control of his actions and what uniform he wore.

BZ, and deserving. Although, compare this to Petty Officer Thornton's citation. The only CMH recipient to earn it while saving another CMH recipient.

The award ceremony is today, 1100 EST. SGT Mahoney also received a Silver Star during this mission.

I knew Flo once upon a time. We were in ROTC together. He was a good dude then and even better, proud to be an American. Even though it has been a long time since we had a beer or 10...him giving his all is not a surprise and i would say even characteristic of him back when I knew him. Respect and honor is due. Glad to see him get some of that.
