They could use the colors of the three main fields in the Army, Yellow for Armor, Red for Infantry, and the Blue for Artilliery .

Sure, Army Officers have colored backing on their shoulder boards to designate their branch. No big deal.

As an E-4 I hate the idea, mainly due to the fact I'm a computer guy and someone that doesn't know me would see I'm commo and will ask me to help them with their computer, but on the non-shitbag E-4 side, it's a good idea IMO, easier to pick someone out by their "specialty"
