I don't understand this article. I am a highly aggressive male, but I don't need training. I am aggressive partly due to the fact I played Football for 15 years. But, I know the law and I adhere to it.

You can't discharge a member for an act they didn't commit
More important, those people willing to die for a cause are exactly who a military wants to recruit into a war.
Bureaucratically speaking, that's an issue for the VA, not the active duty services. Especially during a time of war

I think you're overestimating the value of the use of tools the military has at its disposal. It had plenty of very effective tools in hand for the drawdown
And underestimating the power of lawyers.
Also, forgetting the most important fact. People rarely commit suicide on active duty. The VA has no financial incentive to prevent people from dying. Financially, it's beneficial for people to kill themselves. It's much cheaper than a lifetime of care and disability benefits payments
