I don't see that at all. What do you mean by a life of degradation?Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 17 at 2017 2:24 PM2017-08-17T14:24:22-04:002017-08-17T14:24:22-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member2842312<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>yes I think so however, if that happens the military as a whole will face huge challenges as these kids will be very unhappy about being forced to be there. to avoid that we would have to give them a lot of attention as well as time and money.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 17 at 2017 2:54 PM2017-08-17T14:54:08-04:002017-08-17T14:54:08-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member2842569<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I don't think our youth are apathetic. The problem isn't that they care about nothing, it's that they care about every freakin thing. Everything is a freakin issue or cause these days. Honestly, I don't have enough emotional bandwidth to care about all of it. So maybe if they had to serve and see what real problems were being faced by other humans in the world in 2017 it might make them care less that someone "fat shamed" someone else. It worked for me. When you get to live in 3rd world countries for a while you start realizing that the fact that I got a small fry when I ordered a large really isn't that big a deal.<br /><br />However, having a draft would all but eliminate one of my favorite things to say to complaining soldiers. "Shut up. You're here because you volunteered for it. No one made you sign the dotted line". Not sure what I'd do without that gem.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 17 at 2017 3:52 PM2017-08-17T15:52:57-04:002017-08-17T15:52:57-04:00CPT Larry Hudson2843338<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Absolutely, especially upon graduation.Response by CPT Larry Hudson made Aug 17 at 2017 6:15 PM2017-08-17T18:15:39-04:002017-08-17T18:15:39-04:00SGT Steven Hines2858034<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think a 2yr mandatory service would give this generation a major attitude ajustment.Response by SGT Steven Hines made Aug 22 at 2017 4:19 PM2017-08-22T16:19:41-04:002017-08-22T16:19:41-04:002017-08-17T11:15:07-04:00
