Senators were so eager to put their imprint on the Iran nuclear deal that 47 Republicans wrote a letter about it to that country’s leaders before any deal has been finalized.

But when it comes to the deteriorating situation in Iraq, there is precious little advice or consent coming from the Senate, and the silence is equally resounding in the House of Representatives.

There are as many possible reactions to IS as there are members of Congress, and I honestly have no idea which the right one would be. Congress' reaction to the Iran sanctions is more predictable and seems more natural, hence the speedier response.

"The Congress wants to assert it's power in the face of the Executive Branch!?! No Way!" (not saying this was wrong or right, just more predictable)

How should America react? I surely don't know, and I haven't heard a plan I like, either. Maybe some of the senators feel the same way.

The silence coming from all parties is disturbing to me.. I would rather hear a tidbit here and there about what is going on but for them to go completely silent worries me... Is something being covered up? or is it just that the recent celebrity scandals are more important
