Well Let me say I am Army for life and I hope we beat Navy one day on the gridiron, but for the time being congratulations Navy. I work with the Navy at Cheatham Annex and must say congratulations Navy on your 21-17 victory over my beloved Army. By the way Navy nice helmet logos!! We'll get them next year Army........
PHILADELPHIA -- With a shot at history at stake, Keenan Reynolds ended his Navy career with a clean sweep against Army.
Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo just might go out the same way.
Reynolds rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another score to lead the No. 21 Midshipmen to their 14th straight win over the Black Knights, 21-17 on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Midshipmen (10-2) can hook an anchor to the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy. It's coming back to Annapolis, Maryland, after a one-year hiatus.
Reynolds' second rushing TD was his 85th career score, the most for any FBS or FCS Division I player. He is the first quarterback over the 116-game series to go 4-0.
Niumatalolo improved to 8-0 against the Black Knights (2-10) two days before he is set to visit BYU to talk about the program's coaching vacancy.

Oh well, SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL at least this game was not a blowout.
I wasn't able to watch the game but many USMA class members were sending email about the game.
I had to watch the Army Navy games from 1976 to 1979 when they played in Philadelphia and Meadowlands while I was a cadet. The heavy coats we wore provided little relief against the cold but sitting in relatively close formation helped keep us warm.

The game was great albeit frustrating Army turnovers. Soft spot for both teams. The spirit songs at the end always choke me up a touch.

Great Game, Navy had to be resourceful and it seems to be in our nature to make things work. Many a time on the flightdeck we had to be resourceful to meet demands.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - First, I have to admit that Army played their guts out. Army looks young and Navy is graduating a large number of starters. So maybe next year... maybe. I'm still a little butt-hurt that Reynolds wasn't in New York this evening. But at the end of the day, both teams rep'd their respective schools well. I'm proud of these young men... ALL of 'em. I think it'll be fun to watch the Cadets charge the field when this streak ends. Until then, a new focus on "15!" Go Navy!

While I am glad that Navy prevailed in this annual awesomeness, I give Army nothing but respect. They are a two win team with nothing pride to play for, and they did exactly that. The Army Cadets played with pride. Yes it is a rivalry, yes it hurts when they lose, but this year the Cadets have nothing to hang their heads about. What an awesome game that was to watch.

From my perspective, the Army Navy Football game is the best game of the year. It beats out all other rivalry games. There are games that have a funny trophy associated with them Paul Bunyan's axe for example, but none of them compare to watching both teams gather with the cadet corps to sing the Alma Maters of the two schools. Seeing on field rivals come together is awesome.

Putting into another perspective, it was mentioned on Saturday (sort of obvious in retrospect) it is one of three games played in the season where all of the players are willing to die for all of the viewers. (The other two being Army Vs. Air Force and Navy Vs. Air Force).

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL Keenan Reynold's should have at least been in the conversation for the Heisman Trophy. What he did was more special because of the limitations and demands of being at a Service Academy. It is no like Navy is going to be able to put 350 pound Offensive linemen out there to block. Yes it was Keenan who has the record, but without coaches who know how to make the best use of smaller offensive linemen, and great blocking, it wouldn't have been possible. That TD record is truly a group effort.
