If my foreign spouse was denied a visa to come to the US, is that worthy of requesting a compassionate reassignment?

Just PCS’d back to the States from 173rd in Italy. Happened to meet my spouse over there, her visa to come here just got denied. Would this qualify for a reassignment? My window opens on the 21st. Re-enlist to go back to Italy/Germany first or apply for the compassionate reassignment after?

AR 614-200, Chapter 5 will have your answer. But, the BLUF from HRC website states:

Soldiers may be considered for a compassionate action when they have extreme Family problems. The two types of Compassionate Requests are when personal problems are:

1. Temporary (resolvable within one year)

2. Not expected to be solved in one year

A compassionate action may be a request for reassignment, deletion, deferment or permissive attachment based on the soldier's circumstances.

Being separated from your spouse would not be grounds for a compassionate reassignment unless there was some type of hardship experienced. Hardship meaning extreme financial strain, or your spouse is incapable of caring for herself.

You can reenlist for a spot but your report date will be at least 25 months after you arrived at your current location.
