I'm sure we only hear about a small percentage of events that happen like this over the open water. I'd like to applaud our deployed Coasties for taking action and following the rules of engagement here. As small of an incident as this seemed to be, it definitely sent a message that our Coast Guard is all business and can handle their own when called. Cheers USCG. A U.S. Coast Guard small boat team fired a single shot at an Iranian flagged dhow in the Persian Gulf after the dhow’s crew aimed a .50-caliber machine gun at the approaching U.S. boat, which was conducting a routine query Tuesday.
