Close Gitmo. Raise the sanctions on Iran. What's the rush?

Help. I'm at a loss for words. You should know me by now. That's totally out of character, my character. And then there's Congress. Isn't there one, just one person there with a backbone?

Completing a major diplomatic effort over the objections of many in Congress, President Obama lifted economic sanctions against Iran Saturday after the U.N. atomic watchdog agency determined that Tehran has complied with the deal to curb its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.

Elections have consequences, let's hope President Obama made the right choice. We get to choose someone else later this year to change policy or not.

CPT Jack Durish That is Trump's appeal! The OTHERS have all 'promised' to do this and to do that. The members of the Republican Senate and House are afraid any negative portrayal by the press will cause them to not be re-elected!

Trump not being 'beholden' to anyone might allow him to actually accomplish something for the good of the Nation.

The rush is that for President Obama it is a huge win on many fronts. Both closing Gitmo and the deal with Iran are very similar to his withdrawal from Iraq. He gains the praise of those aligned with him politically, while the consequences come a few years later. By that time there will most likely be a Republican president and President Obama can point his finger at the Republican as incompetent.

President Obama gets to add even more oil on the world market to drive prices even lower. This has a very high chance of ending all the new oil production in the US and Canada (an Obama goal for a long time).
He gets to poke a finger in prime Minister Netanyahu's eye.
He strengthens Iran's finances allowing Iran even more influence in Iraq, which Obama has promoted since our withdrawal.
He allows Iran to strengthen their support for Hezbollah and possibly bring Hamas back to their bosom. This strengthens the Palestinian's position against Israel. Which is a long standing Obama goal.
He allows Iran to strengthen their support for the Houthis in Yemen, then eventually against Saudi Arabia. With the collapse of the House of Saud, US influence in the Middle East will rest solely on Jordan and Israel. Obama will join the UN after his presidency to further pressure Israel to cede land and security to Muslim influence. Jordan will be forced to distance itself from the US.
He sends experienced warriors from Cuba to Oman who can quickly join in Iran's efforts in Yemen.

So, you see, these actions are key to Mr. Obama's goals of remaking the Middle East, and changing the balance of influence around the world as he expressly dreamed for in his book, "Dreams from my Father".

Maybe not everyone shares your right-wing ideals and he left actually won a few elections and you are seeing some of the results.
