Mintz said he was in the process of signaling to a shot victim who was screaming to be quiet when he came face to face with the shooter and was shot repeatedly. In his own words Mintz, said that the gunman first shot him in the hand, and said to him, "That's because you called the police." The media is (was) looking for a hero and they made one. Even though Mintz didn't confront the killer, he may have helped save lives by warning others. To the killer, Mintz's actions were a threat, the threat was, that he would not have as many victims because of Mintz's actions of warning others and calling the police.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 18 at 2015 9:23 AM2015-10-18T09:23:01-04:002015-10-18T09:23:01-04:00Cpl Jeff N.1048513<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Stories with hero's and villains make better copy for the media. He never made the claims about charging the gunman. He set the record straight once he started talking. That displays his level of integrity for not allowing the story to be told incorrectly. <br /><br />We didn't jump to conclusions. The media reported things that were not true/vetted correctly as being true. We accepted the media's story as accurate since they are allowed on the scene to gather facts and report them accurately. For anyone that still believes the media to be competent, here is one more example of incompetence to add to your scale.Response by Cpl Jeff N. made Oct 18 at 2015 9:25 AM2015-10-18T09:25:48-04:002015-10-18T09:25:48-04:00Sgt Tom Cunnally1048557<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Chris Mintz recounts ordeal....this guy is one tough soldier.
