Does anyone else get a knot in their mid-chest area that is highly painful?

I continue to have chest pain issues since leaving the Army back in 2004. I have had heart stress test and doctors do not seem to know what the issue is. Does anyone else get a knot in their mid-chest area that is highly painful?

Have you had a barium swallow or Esophagoscopy to check for ulcers, pyloric spasms, etc.?

Yeah, Like the others are saying, Upper G.I. testing is in order. I was carrying sub-lingual nitro tablets for about 6 months before they finally figured out it was GERD and Ulcers.

Oh yea and throw in difficulty breathing on top of it and I get told its heartburn. Its not. The pain is worse then the chemical stress test I've been through.
