Swim, hike, swim, camp, kayak with a rental from MWR, swim, lay on beach, rock climb, swim, snorkle, spear fish, did I mention swim?

I recommend a car for this trip. Shaved ice, all the public beaches are good for kids. Green Sand beach at the south end is really cool but its a bit of a trek with kids. You have to go to the Valcanoes Nat'l Park. Snorkeling but don't go to that popular place downtown, it's terrible.

Obviously the beaches around the island. Look for the hidden treasure spots there are some really good ones in north shore. You can get a beach cabin asst the military reservation in wainai relatively cheap. Like 80 of the water 120 on the water and it's like a little house. Or just take a day trip there.
Diamond head is an Excellent spot especially if you are an early riser. 1 mile vertical hike, relatively easy and the most beautiful sunrise you will ever see. Like 3 bucks per person. If you go on Saturday the guy has certificates for sale saying you climbed it for another 2 bucks.

Get over to MWR for discounted tickets for whatever. Also get on the list to chill at a beach cabin at Bellows AFS. Although I tend to avoid tourist traps, the Polynesian Cultural Center on the windward side is a nice experience kids at the age where they'll remember. My boys are in their 20s and still talk about Bellows and the PCC. They do ask if girls looked good because they weren't there yet.

Polynesian Cultural Center. Luaus. Beaches. Boat tours. There are limitless things to enjoy there, and not all of them are expensive.

CPL Private RallyPoint Member, you're at Schofield so the Polynesian Cultural Center Luau and show is always fun.

I didn't have kids when I was stationed in Hawaii but I did when I went back a few months ago for vacation. My daughter LOVED the zoo and aquarium.

If you go to the MWR ticketing office at the Navy Exchange or Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam you can also get a list of plenty of discounted tickets for all kinds of events, tours, touristy things, etc.
