Cat Hung at Schofield Barracks, if found, Punish the SM's or No?

Recently, there was an incident at Schofield Barracks, regarding a Cat being hung on base near a location known as Area X Ray, typically used for exercises, training and the Motorcycle course. This obviously breaks the whole "DONT mess with the wildlife" safety briefing before any thing conducted at the X Ray. What's your thoughts, should they find whos responsible, should they be punished? Is this a big deal to you? Thoughts, Comments, and Concerns below.

I believe the SM's should be punished, however, I will make light that there is no way of knowing whether the Cat was dead or alive, as we have tons of strays on base here. Is this a prank gone too far? or possibly an extreme case of Animal Cruelty?

Yes, those responsible should be found and punished. Not just for cruelty to animals and violating the policy. This has the markings of something darker. This isn't just cruelty to animals. This was a message of some sort.

This is horrible! If someone can do that in a cold blooded manner to an animal, what do you think their outlook on life is in general? Truly sick people out there. This act is absolutely not what our Army Values stand for and whomever is caught must be brought to justice.

All known serial killers started with the torture and killing of animals. This behavior has no place in our Armed Forces and should be eliminated to the best of our ability. Any individual who would commit such an act is in serious need of competent psychological evaluation.

Not enough information. Did someone hang an already dead cat that they found already dead, or did they kill the cat? If someone is caught killing cats around post, then that warrants further action. If I were King Mark, and there was none of this pesky rule of law stuff, I'd probably just lop the heads off of animal abusers, but being that I'm not and I don't know what I don't know, I'll leave at that.
