Can you succeed and grow as a Leader although there is no room for advancement in your field?2015-07-27T22:03:40-04:002015-07-27T22:03:40-04:00Capt Seid Waddell848894<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Growth as a leader is an individual accomplishment, and is not dependent on growth in rank, especially when there is limited opportunity for promotion.Response by Capt Seid Waddell made Jul 28 at 2015 1:26 AM2015-07-28T01:26:30-04:002015-07-28T01:26:30-04:00CW4 Private RallyPoint Member848900<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes Sir, I agree with you. There is plenty of ways to show professional, spiritual and personal growth, all while serving in a position that can't offer or provide you win advancement at the moment.Response by CW4 Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 28 at 2015 1:31 AM2015-07-28T01:31:59-04:002015-07-28T01:31:59-04:00PO2 Robert Cuminale1162209<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think you can look to the period between WW1 and WW2. There was virtually no promotion for commissioned officers in that period. It wasn't unusual to serve 20 more years and retire as a Captain in the Army. Men like Eisenhower and McArthur languished in Washington. The most exciting thing they did was kick out the "Bonus Army" during the depression. There was definitely a place for the "Ring Knockers" no matter the grade.Response by PO2 Robert Cuminale made Dec 9 at 2015 5:47 AM2015-12-09T05:47:13-05:002015-12-09T05:47:13-05:002015-07-27T22:03:40-04:00
