Can you request an earlier PCS date with Branch?

My PCS date is August 2020. I have a friend who is willing to swap the orders but the problem is that once he arrives in Korea he will only have 12 months left. He is willing to move the PCS date earlier but we are not sure branch will allow it

If the ‘gaining unit’ approves of an ‘early’ arrival; then, it ‘should’ be possible...
If he already has orders; then, you will have a unit to contact...let me know if things work out...used to be up to the gaining unit and ‘billet’ availability

Usually you are given the report date you received because that's when you were eligible to move based on TOS rules. Branches are VERY loathe to swap even when both people are completely qualified to move because it's extra work, and unwilling to swap assignments for people who are not equally qualified to move.
Your question is kind of vague since you didn't really explain your situation. I am guessing you mean that someone is in Korea, in which case, their DEROS determines their PCS availability and that DEROS is only getting changed with an FSTE or a curtailment.

Right now any type of PCS to or from Europe/Korea, etc is on hold. You will have to talk to Branch, but I doubt it will fly as they are in crisis management right now
