Can you help me with giving more information pertaining to enlisting in either the Reserves or the National Guard? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-you-help-me-with-giving-more-information-pertaining-to-enlisting-in-either-the-reserves-or-the-national-guard

I am looking to enlist in the Army Reserve or the National Guard. I am looking for a bit more information from the community to help finalize my decision. I do not have a particular interest, looking for a job that can translate into the civilian world easily. The jobs available for the Army reserve are: 25B, 35F, 92A, 36B and for the National Guard: 15T, 94F. Can you provide me with insight on what you would do if you had these choices? I also have 75 credit hours in college if that makes any sort of difference. If you're into computers 25B with the right certs, and if you get a clearance is a solid choice. Money is great on the outside. Lots of computer pukes here to give you additional information. You could also go your local armory and see what MOS's are there, and talk straight up to the Soldiers there as to what they do when there and what they do in the civilian side. Remember that as you progress in the military, your duties can change. You'll have expected positions that will require you to be proficient in your MOS along with running a shop, a platoon, Drill Sergeant, and a ton of additional duties.

In the end, what is it you want to do? Write down the pros and cons, narrow your list to the top three, two additional MOS's you'd be happy to do provided your primaries don't work out, and roll to your recruiter informed and knowing what you want to do. BTW the Hooah Hooah videos? Skip em. They're showing the "cool" side of it. Talk to the Joes if possible, ask questions here (most MOS's actually have follow groups), and be ready to not like what you'll hear, but recognize that sometimes it's exactly what you'll need to know.
