Determination is based on range degree.
Not eligible if lumbar scoliosis greater than 20 degrees, thoracic scoliosis greater than 30 degrees, or kyphosis and lordosis greater than 55 degrees when measured by the Cobb method (this would be disqualifying for military service). Not only disqualify for joining but continuing service. If a doctor deems your condition prevents proper wearing of a uniform or military equipment it could justify a medical discharge.
Classes of scoliosis defined in AR 40-501, page 38
Mild scoliosis is often managed simply with exercise, medical observation, and scoliosis-specific physical therapy. For some people with scoliosis, yoga is also recommended to decrease their pain level and increase flexibility.
