You must be eligible to reenlist. There are several factors at play, starting with eligeability and acceptance into the program. Please reach out to your retention NCO. It also helps to speak with the command Team as an Officers recommendation goes a long way when seeking to be one. Thank you for your service. Along with your command team, school cadre might also have critical information. If you choose the non scholarship route, you are eligible to enlist in the Guard or Reserves under Simultaneous Membership Program. That's exactly what I did. Most units will process it like a school drop, but the paperwork is obviously different. It does go through both your chain of command and the ROTC program. Basically you get discharged for the purposes of Green to Gold.
