I don't watch Fox but this guy may be familiar to some of you who do watch Fox News..???
Wayne Simmons claimed to be something of an American James Bond. On his Web site and in official, government documents, he wrote that he was part of the CIA’s “outside paramilitary special operations group,” and that he spearheaded deep cover operations against some of the world’s most dangerous drug cartels and smugglers.

His claims won him frequent commenting gigs on Fox News and government contracting jobs overseas. He even wrote a novel — a spy thriller that seemed to have been drawn from his work.

But according to federal prosecutors, much of it was a lie. In an indictment unsealed Thursday, they said Simmons’s claim that he worked for the CIA for 27 years was false. He was arrested and charged with false statements, major fraud against the U.S. and wire fraud.

And water is still wet. It's rather humorous that it was Faux news that was caught, but alas, they ALL do it equally and get caught at different intervals. Maybe they need a DA6 so they can get their future liars on a schedule and know when another will be caught.

Let's focus on the important part.

The fact that he worked for Fox News as a consultant ain't it.

The fact that he faked being a CIA agent ain't it.

This is the important part:

"Simmons claims to have worked for the CIA from 1973 to 2000, and "used that false claim in an attempt to obtain government security clearances and work as a defense contractor, including at one point successfully getting deployed overseas as an intelligence advisor to senior military personnel," according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia."

I'm sorry but it's kind of a karmic justice because for so long they touted their credibility and thoroughness only to have been duped by this guy for YEARS!
On a more humorous note, every news network will be scrubbing their list of commentators to make sure they are solid.

All of the news agencies seem to be caught in this. Not just Fox. None of these are responsible in vetting their stories or their subject matter experts. Shoddy reporting is accepted by these stations and producers. Thank God there is still BBC and Al-Jazeera. If it were not for them I would have to get my news from the tabloid mags.

He was an unpaid guest commentator on FNC. Although one would think they would vet their guests better, more like MSNBC does. I seldom watch FNC, but this is just another way for the far left to try to discredit the only news outlet that does attempt to present both sides rather than carrying water for the left.

Haven't watched FOX since the Clinton impeachment days. Don't watch very much cable news at all, because it's not news anymore. Small % of news with far too much of opinions. Prefer a news feed such as Reuters or similar, because they are brief and to the point. Less meddling and shaping their agenda for ratings.
