If you have been tossed out for PT, it would be possible to enlist and then apply for OCS, if you could pass the ACFT

As far as I am tracking, no, because you were already in a program. I could be wrong though. I recommend talking to ARCD and HRC to clarify. They have officer assessment team.

My quesion is, "why did you fail PT in the first place?" If you had some sort of temporary disability that kept you from gaining or maintaining physical condition, then you should have received a "profile". If you are plagued with poor self discipline and don't to keep up minimum physical capability, then your commissioning source won't matter because you won't pass the test. However, if you believe you have changed your behavior so you can maintain physical condition adequate to pass the test, then apply for OCS after you complete your degree. BTW, all Services are not the same when it comes to physical testing. You might look at the requirements for each Service, determine which fit your personal capabilities the best, and apply for commissioning in that Service.

Keep in mind they would know that if you attend. The main objective of the cadre is to find each candidates breaking point. Its tough enough without having.baggage you bring in. You would have to be in top notch shape beforehand.

More than likely, one would be provided the opportunity to attempt OCS. However, Army PT is Army PT. If someone cannot meet the standards of Cadet Command, they’d likely have a similar experience in OCS. I was held to a higher standard in OCS than I was in basic training. No one will follow you if everyone in the platoon is leaving you in the dust during PT. As a former OCS Instructor, I can assure you that PT is still an important factor. If someone decides to try OCS after being a no-go for PT in ROTC, they should just ensure that they are ready for the challenge during their 2nd chance.

The answer to this is yes, however depending on your commander and/or battalion commander you may have some explaining to do. I know from LA Guard you’ve got to get the permission from not only your CO, but the BC to ensure that they have a slot vacant for you. The problem is if you can’t pass PT In ROTC, how are you going to pass it and OCS?
I’m definitely not knocking you because I went to the same exact problem. Going to Louisiana Tech and doing our PT at Grambling State University was more of a headache than it was worth. Granted I volunteered for an deployment and got myself in the best shape I was ever in and came home and finished first in my accelerated OCS class. If you really want it, you’re gonna have to bust your ass to get it.
