Can you apply for SF if you have corrected 20/25 (near vision, left eye)? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-you-apply-for-sf-if-you-have-corrected-20-25-near-vision-left-eye <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Both far sight and my right near sight correct to under 20/20. Yes, I did read that 20/20 is required, but I want to know if there&#39;s a waiver for it. Also any odd tips that haven&#39;t been mentioned to prepare for SFAS would be greatly appreciated. That’s not 20/20 uncorrected. I have plenty of regimental brothers that wear glasses/contacts. They won’t want you wearing contacts in the field phases (hygiene), but I wouldn’t fret about 20/25 uncorrected. As long as you don’t have a funky astigmatism that doesn’t allow you to pass an SFAS physical, you should be good. If you are still worried about it, I also recommend PRK. LASIK will knock you out of some of the MFF stuff, but PRK is acceptable. Or... get some of those awesome “go-faster goggles” which are cheaper than corrective eye surgery. Glasses in the woods isn’t any fun though, and my SERE school went by in a blur (a literal blur... I couldn’t see anything with out my specs/contacts) CPT Nicholas D. I have not had uncorrected 20/20 my entire time in SF. Reference preparing for SFAS; the 25 meter target is get your feet tough, your back/body and mind strong. It is not undoable by any stretch, however, they will test you in every way possible. You are being tested even when you don&#39;t think you are being tested. Joe easy way to look at it is &quot;they&quot; are charged with finding the best candidates to attend the SFQC. My suggestion is the best you can, that means sometimes you may have to put out 100% sometimes maybe so maybe no.
