This snapshot is often invalid, but is taken for truth because the upper echelons of the Army have fully bought into DTMS.
A solution that I would recommend is paying someone that actually knows what they are doing to put all online training on an easy to access and use site, read not ALMS or ATTRS, that is then fully linked to DTMS. This would allow DTMS to self update as Soldiers complete the required online training, and therefore take the burden off the Training Room Clerk or NCO. Can we please get someone technically smart to put all online 350-1 on one site that is linked to DTMS? 2016-03-31T19:31:28-04:00 LTC Private RallyPoint Member 1419840

DTMS is the bane of many Co/Btry/Troop Command Teams existence as it provides the higher level a snapshot into their training stats. As a DTMS guy in my BN, that is the bane of my existence as well. Having to find the training on ALMS, JKO, and ATTRS; complete them or others complete them and load the training. Trying to teach and correct two training room NCOs, plus answer questions for 452 personnel at times, oh by the way, pull the data for meetings twice a week... yes sir, I feel some kind of way about that. There you can find the training necessary. However, as a former Master Trainer, I wouldn't delegate privileges below the Squad Leader and even that is a risk. Too many hands in the system can be a bad thing, especially given the changes they are making to the promotion system and the reliance on ATMS. Before you know it, you have no APFT failures, you're 100 qualified on all weapons and you're fully trained for deployment, all because you allowed your Soldiers to have access they took a shortcut to keep from training. The system can work, but it takes a lily time to get all the records updated, after that, the system will do exactly what it's supposed to do, but if you don't complete that part first, then it's all uphill until you do. Databases that link to each other, functional websites (not ALMS or ATTRS). You might as well ask for laser weapons, matter transporters and self driving tanks; and you would probably get them before. Resident Individual Training Management System, or RITMS, is now linked to DTMS but of course there are flaws. The title of the course is not shown, just the course number-whoops. Once Emilpo and ALMS links, it will be a godsend, I don't think there is a time line.
