SPC Private RallyPoint Member 7821534

I have less than a year left in my contract and I’m currently in SFLTAP my unit is forcing me to go on a rotation to Korea and said they’ll only send me back up to 90 days early, can they do that? I was always told SFLTAP is mandatory and takes significantly longer than 90 days add on needing to clear the unit, CIF, and any terminal leave I don’t think it’s possible. Can they cancel my SFLTAP for a rotation longer than my contract? 2022-08-12T15:28:01-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 7821534

I have less than a year left in my contract and I’m currently in SFLTAP my unit is forcing me to go on a rotation to Korea and said they’ll only send me back up to 90 days early, can they do that? And it's also something you can complete online.
It is something you should do NLT 365 days from your ETS so you have at least 365 days to use those new-found skills to prepare yourself for life on the outside, like finding your next job and/or applying for school, managing your own budget, while you are still doing your Army job during your last year.

All post clearing appointments can be completed in 3-5 duty days.
If you come back with 90 days left, you should have no problem clearing and going on transition leave. I did all my classes at Camp Humphreys before I got SFC and extended my ETS. Clearing only takes 10 days. They may have you clear from Korea since it does have all the resources for one to clear and retire or ETS from there. But 90 days is plenty of time. If it takes longer than that then you are doing something wrong. Many soldiers receive job offers with the company they completed their CSP with. TAP is also allowed to be started at 18 months out as well. If there is some CSP program you are set on doing you can extend another year and complete it after the rotation.

30 days is more than enough time to clear everything, two weeks is enough if you live in the barracks. Terminal leave is on your own and the unit isn't required to approve it, but as a SPC you probably aren't carrying much more than a month. You can complete the required TAP classes in about two weeks or less. That's plenty of time.
