I am not talking cable tv, internet, and telephone. Just internet. Prices can go straight to $200 a month and we would have to pay it cause no one else provides internet service. Inflation and the value of of the dollar might drive costs of internet. Can government easily provide internet service at a decent price should cable companies get greedy, or is the government hands are tired to what companies want to price their service?

Competition is the American way to drive down prices and drive up quality. Government interference inevitably leads to a break down in one or both.

You're a techie, get a T Mobile (or similar) mobile hotspot and pay about $20 a month for Internet. A lot of people use their smart phones as their Internet connection.

LOL, not really! I've just had to do this before myself. Hell, if you've got an Android, it as a feature to use your phone as a hot spot.
