Six months after getting back my happy butt was on a plane headed for Bosnia. The second time I went to Korea I had to do 15 months because of stop-loss. I was assigned to Ft Hood again and five months later my happy butt was on a plane headed to Iraq. Welcome to the Army.Response by SSG Laurie Mullen made Sep 8 at 2021 10:28 PM2021-09-08T22:28:36-04:002021-09-08T22:28:36-04:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member7254887<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You should have 6 months IDT (individual dwell time) for your 12 months in Korea. Soldiers may elect to waive individual dwell time to deploy, by applying in writing, through their chain of command to the first general officer. Involuntary waivers of dwell require Secretary of Defense approval. This is per AR 614–30Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 8 at 2021 10:35 PM2021-09-08T22:35:00-04:002021-09-08T22:35:00-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member7255038<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Army is about to update their policy for dwell time. Right now it's goal of 1:3 minimum of 1:2, it can be waived by you General Officer or voluntarily by you. You're not important enough for a GO to waive your dwell. Soon after that it will be goal 1:3 minimum of 1:2 and only waived by the Secretary of the Army, and not voluntarily at allResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 9 at 2021 1:01 AM2021-09-09T01:01:08-04:002021-09-09T01:01:08-04:002021-09-08T21:51:59-04:00
