Yes you can have to get extra clothing. When I was going to SLC in January, we had been given what we found out was an old packing list that said 4 x sets of ACUs (either UCP or OCP) - I went and over two months prior to the course bought four sets of ACUs in the OCP style since I was going to need to get it anyway. Then found out they changed it to 2 x sets. It also had like five PT shirts and shorts or something like that. <br /><br />If you don't have it you go buy it. You're going to have to have more than the Army issued you in basic training. <br /><br />If the training or event you're going to requires civilian business attire then you get it if you don't have it. Yes.Response by SFC Kelly Fuerhoff made Jul 26 at 2018 12:15 PM2018-07-26T12:15:52-04:002018-07-26T12:15:52-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member3828006<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It all depends on what kind of solder you would like to be. You can cause friction at every point that is not per black and white regulation, and be known as the boy who cried wolf. Or you can hold out for the big issues that matter, and have your voice heard when it matters.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 26 at 2018 3:16 PM2018-07-26T15:16:08-04:002018-07-26T15:16:08-04:00SGT Joseph Gunderson3828156<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes.Response by SGT Joseph Gunderson made Jul 26 at 2018 4:08 PM2018-07-26T16:08:50-04:002018-07-26T16:08:50-04:00MAJ Javier Rivera3828254<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Junk beyond the issue items no. However you must be smart on what battles you chose to fight! Anything that is required for you to have is issued. Now, as you go higher in rank things are expected regardless of issues or not.Response by MAJ Javier Rivera made Jul 26 at 2018 4:34 PM2018-07-26T16:34:33-04:002018-07-26T16:34:33-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member3829324<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No. I've been fighting this battle for years with higher. The packing list is there for a reason- to successfully make it thru a deployment, mission, operation. Too cheap to but extra- what if there is limited laundry, and your 1 shirt can't be cleaned in time- is it worth an ART 15 for being out of uniform?Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Jul 27 at 2018 9:17 AM2018-07-27T09:17:03-04:002018-07-27T09:17:03-04:00SPC Americo Irizarry3842841<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes they canResponse by SPC Americo Irizarry made Jul 31 at 2018 10:44 PM2018-07-31T22:44:10-04:002018-07-31T22:44:10-04:00MSG Johnathan Mathes3859450<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE.. GO DOWN AND BUY S FEW EXTRA THINGS.. LIKE EXTRA PT SHORTS A EXTRA JACKET.. T SHIRTS AND SOCKS..... there are somethings that will make your life a lot easier.. and having extra never hurts... sometimes going with the grain makes it easier... not everything is us against them....there are some settings where you'll need a nice civilian attire.. not everyone needs to know your in the service... or your trying to blend in.. there is a reason.... a 1SG or senior leader just doesn't wake up and think to himself.."gee what can i do to make SGT Ryan B.
