So if you're a FED overseas with an EML piece of paper, that's Cat-2. Beyond that, AMC has no mission to fly you. However, that doesn't mean they won't. Results vary. That's why if you're going overseas, make sure you have a personal passport as well besides the brown and/or black one. BTW a diplomatic passport is only authorized for very select use by certain Feds and their dependents. When I was all over the place in the mid '90s, the brown and black on orders ditched the airport fees and some other things. A few times I was steered to a separate short line through immigration. But other than that, there generally was someone at the curb to pick you up. No particular mystique.

BTW, the brown and black passports were the ones you'd get the long term multiple entry endorsements on so that speeded things up a great deal.Response by CAPT Kevin B. made Jan 6 at 2017 12:00 AM2017-01-06T00:00:18-05:002017-01-06T00:00:18-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member2221580

As a holder of a "Black" Diplomatic Passport for the last five years, I can with 100% confidence tell you that you CAN NOT use your Diplomatic Passport for leisure travel. The unofficial use of a Diplomatic Passport is a misrepresentation of your status to a foreign government. There are privileges associated with the Diplomatic Passport, e.g. No Fee Visa, Expedited Lanes, Non search of person and personal luggage (certain restrictions apply), airport VIP lounge use, etc.

Don't using it. It's not worth having a ticked off Ambassador calling your CG.

Just out of curiosity, why do you have a Diplomatic Passport as a Veteran?Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2017 4:27 AM2017-01-06T04:27:55-05:002017-01-06T04:27:55-05:002017-01-05T21:47:42-05:00
