Can somebody enlist if they have a misdemeanor theft charge as a juvenile and the record was expunged?

A friend wants to join but got a misdemeanor theft charge as a juvenile but has had his record exsponged is being told he can't join

For someone to come in what is the limits of waivers/ what constitutes an automatic no go for initial enlistment

Expuged or not, if an applicant fails to reveal all charged, and it is found during subsequent investigations (livescan), the appicant will be disqualified for 6moths.
Army only has two types of charges, fellony, misdemeanor. 4 charge categories.. traffic, non-traffic, misconduct and major misconduct. Many times during the enlostment process, the applicant will be asked "... Expunged or not..." A lot of times applocanrs come in, and if not a single chare that os disqualifying, but a combo that makes them DQ.

Depends on what was stolen. He would qualify for a waiver if he was charged as a juvenile though
