Plain and simple. If they do pass, they either transition to Active Duty, or to the National Guard (Florida, I believe). Regardless, you'll be put on Active status for the SFQC. <br /><br />But why do you feel that it is not in the cards for you? You do know that you can attend SFAS more than once, correct? And if you do get Selected, your Reserve unit cannot stop you from continuing on the path, as SOCOM orders are not superseded by any other. So why are you giving up now? If you want to be on an ODA and be a part of that amazing family of highly selected, expertly trained, hard-charging warfighters, then you'll do whatever it takes to do it.
