Can Officers get civilian clothing allowance if their mission requires it?

I’m deployed currently in Iraq and my mission dictates civilian clothes. I’m in the reserves and was wondering if we get it? I can’t find the regulation that dictates it.

1LT Hamilton,
Your orders should state that Civilian Clothing Allowance is authorized. If it is something that changed during your deployment, have your orders amended.
When I was on orders for embassy duty in Cairo I had a line on my orders that stated: "Civilian Clothing Allowance is authorized per DOD Financial Management Regulation, Vol 7A, Chap 29, Table 29-7."
Use this regulation as a starting point.
Good luck.

MSG Dan Walther - Thank you MSG Dan Walther. I happened to save my orders and was able to copy/paste the Civilian Clothing Allowance line.

The Army bomb teams get stipends for civies to look for bombs in civies when wherever the President Goes...I wonder where they get their money? I guess you can't put it on your travel voucher??

I think for the incidentals on your travel voucher and maybe your laundry. This is not like a $200 clothing allowance that you get every time you get deployed. I got my $200 I was deployed to Iraq and then later to Afghanistan. I really don't know the answer for that and I was discussing it with the lieutenant colonel when he mentioned the $6 a day miscellaneous allowance you get down range in a combat zone.

LTC (Join to see) - a classmate at CLOAC was the Detachment Commander for the EOD Whitehouse detail. He was authorized a civilian clothing allowance.

Yes, it sounds like there is an exception to the rule. I guess it has to be in your orders.
