If you have concerns, talk with your OCS point of contact for specific guidance to address timeline concerns. Best of luck to you! You are not going there on TCS orders, you are going there TDY for training. Although I see your dilemma, I happen to know why you are going there. I’m a part of one of the many units involved in the planning, and what I would tell about the training event you are attending, is that you may want to consider embracing this opportunity. A lot of firsts for the Army will occur during Defender 2020 and you might want to consider that this experience will enrich you as you begin the transition into the officer corps. You will probably not leave for class for another ten months to a year anyway, and even if by some miracle your class date conflicts, your unit is obligated to ensure you can attend. You might as well make the most of this and add this unique experience to your background. Until you have a date, which can be up to a year, you will be required to go anywhere until it interferes with the school date. If you get a school date that conflicts with your training they will just send you back. I had orders to go to Korea while I awaited a green to gold scholarship. I was on my way to Korea when I was diverted by HRC to Fort Sam Houston where my school and my wife were going to be located. Good luck!
