Can my spouse live in an area not at my home of record while I'm unaccompanied in Korea?

I have orders to PCS to Korea, but I'm choosing to do it unaccompanied. My wife and kids are planning on getting an apartment near her parents house. This area is not my home of record or near my previous duty station. Will she still get the rate for where she's living?

I PCSed to Korea from my advanced course at Ft Lee which was 59 seconds longer than a TDY, so a PCS. My wife rented a house where she was from in Hesperia CA (my duty Station before CLOAC was Ft Irwin). I had a copy of the lease and did a BAH verification form in Korea. I,lived in the BOQ and drew the BAH for that location in CONUS. She had our HHG delivered there. At the end of my Korea tour, JPPSO picked up in Hesperia and delivered to FT Carson. As SFC (Join to see) says, ensure it is in your orders. Have you had a levy brief yet?

Make sure reassignments know your Family will be relocating. You will have to provide the address to where they will be relocating. Once you receive your PCS order, make sure it states you will assist with relocating your family as well as the address. You will be entitled to PTDY to assist with the relocating but the PTDY should be on the front end of your leave and the dates should be in the remarks. (PTDY - 10 Jan 19 through 19 Jan 19). I hope this helps. Good luck to you, inbox me if you have any questions.
