They are in the VA loop, but the county employs them to be your advocate and know what you are eligible for. I went in to see mine and it changed my life. My county&#39;s VSO improved my family&#39;s quality of life through her knowledge and understanding. All they can say is no, what do you have to lose? Remember, the County VSO has a vested interest in ensuring they take care of you because that is what the county pays them to do. I tried to transfer my GI Bill to my step daughter but was told I had to extend for 4 more years.... I already had an approved retirement.
