Can I wear my MOS pin on my dress uniform if said MOS is no longer my primary MOS?

I've looked all through AR670-1 and asked my leadership. They don't have any answers for me. The picture posted is the pin I'm talking about. It's for Engineer branch. Thank you for any input

After some research I've found that this is called an RDI (Regimental Distinctive Insignia).

Isn't the regiment insignia a little low, and the name kind of jacked up?

The regulation is you can wear any regimental insignia you are affiliated with and only one at a time. What does affiliated me? I presume MOSQ'd.

When at BOLC (I was prior enlisted MI) we were told we could not wear the QM insignia until we graduated. So brand new 2LT's without a previous MOS wore none. It's a reminder to new officers they aren't qualified soldiers yet. Fine, so I wore my MI one until we graduated.

I checked the reg and kept it in my ASU pocket. I was waiting for the CSM challenge that never came.

A broad interpretation would be you could wear any previous MOS regiment you are qualified for. I did not find a regulation specifying WHICH one you wore and WHEN. A realistic interpretation would be wearing the one you are currently assigned and qualified.

What you're looking for is called your Regimental Affiliation. The current rules are you may affiliate with any combat arms Regiment you have served in. If you were a support MOS you could also wear the RDI of your Career Field like quartermaster or MI. Your S1 at your first duty station is supposed to affiliate you to that unit on your SRB. But with the exception of a few units, you may affiliate with any unit you have served with, no 4187 needed

Reg citation below: authorization is based on PMOS, therefore you should wear based on your current PMOS- not previous.

AR 670-1 21–23. Regimental distinctive insignia
a. Authorization. RDI of a design approved by TIOH are authorized and prescribed for wear by all Soldiers affiliated with a regiment or whole-corps regiment (based on a Soldier’s branch/corps/special branch, as determined by PMOS or specialty).
