Can I transfer to another unit and keep my SSG to SFC promotion recommended status?

SSG TPU USAR soldier that was recently recommended for SFC. I would like to transfer to a sister unit under the same command that I was selected. It is a different duty position, with the same MOS with the same E7 slot. If I transfer, will I lose my recommended status and have to be boarded again? I've been looking in the regs, but can't find any information that directly pertains to this matter?

As d as r as I understand, for E7 you are centrally selected and only allowed to transfer to a valid position. Your promotion is not tied to your slot, the slot you're eligible to move into is limited by your promotion.
So yes you would be eligible to move into an E7 slot

If your unit can move you into a valid E7 slot, then go ahead and do that, but I would wait to see where you are promoted to first. If you're on the PPRL (recommended promotion list in each Readiness Division Region) then you'll likely be promoted out of your unit into another unit via orders anyway. Most of our Senior NCOs have been promoted out of the unit for promotion. You'll have to serve 12 months in that position, at which point to can transfer back to your old USAR unit, or any other unit where you can hold an E7 slot. Good luck to you!

As the ARA/S1 for the PPRL it states where and when you will be promoted. If you can't get the answers, message me and I'll let you know.

When I knew I was on the list, I transferred to a chemical unit that had a great need for E7s (they had none), thinking and hoping that I would get picked up in that unit. Within the same week that the transfer orders were in my hand, I got different transfer orders that accompanied my promotion and had to cancel the transfer to the chemical unit to accept the promotion and transfer to my current unit
