Assuming I can transfer while still remaining on orders, would I need to take leave to attend my new unit's AT exercise? Can I transfer reserve units while on an active duty order (COADOS), assuming my current unit approves it? 2018-01-09T18:50:18-05:00 MAJ Private RallyPoint Member 3242155

I am volunteering for their upcoming deployment but they want me on the books soon so I can attend their exercise. I just switched units due to EPS on the MDay side. I would imagine it’s not an issue with the reserves, either, though I’m not as familiar with how they work.

As far as attending their AT, I know it’s strongly frowned upon where I’m at, but occasionally it happens. I know of a few instances where a Soldier on COADOS is allowed to attend AT or an exercise with their RC unit. I haven’t seen them need to take leave, but it gets to be a fairly touchy subject.
