Can I take my car to AIT if I’m a holdover with the means to get it before AIT starts?

So I broke my foot at airborne school and I’m a parachute rigger, at least for the time being, and I’m going home for convalescence leave. Since I’m getting reclassed due to being med dropped from airborne I was wondering if I could come back with my car. We can have a POV as a holdover here but I’m just curious as to know if I’d be able to take my car to ait or not since I’m not technically prior service even though I’ve been in holding for almost a year.

Most likely no. In AIT you cannot drive unless you completed AIT in the past and are reclassing with prior service.

It depends on your AIT and the privileges you have earned. For example, the 68C AIT is a year long and two phases. Phase I I wasn’t allowed to have a car. Phase II we were allowed to have a car and our CO was nice and managed to get an ETP for us to have alcohol since we were there a year.

In the first day or so, the command is going to set ground rules you need to follow, if you take it might be in a holding area and can’t get to it until you have earned the right to drive it. Which might not be until you graduate.

Most likely you will not be able to as your still in TRADOC. This is a good question for your platoon Sgt or local chain of command.
