My retention NCO said I need to update my EFMP file before I can reclass, as it expires sometime next year. I have all the paperwork turned in, but the civilians at EFMP said it could be until September before my file is updated. Can I submit my packet for reclass or will it be rejected until my file is up to date? Can I submit my packet for reclass to 35L if my EFMP fails has not yet been updated, or will it be rejected until my file is updated?2021-06-16T10:31:00-04:00CPL Private RallyPoint Member7049967

I am approaching my ets date in November and want to reclass as a 35L, which is a packet MOS. In fact, that mistake may cause you to have to extend a year while you wait for a clearance if you don't have one.

The application for 35L is 100% on you to put together and submit. If you are selected you bring your acceptance memo to your Career Counselor. They will write a memo for your S2 to initiate your clearance. Once you have the clearance your Career Counselor can request your school date. At 120 days before your school start date you will get a follow on assignment, your EFMP needs to be updated before then. Your EFMP does not need to be updated for requesting training. If you fail to update your EFMP prior to then you will 100% be sent to Korea for your follow on assignment. There's about a 50% chance you will anyway because it takes so long to validate an assignment for EFMP.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 16 at 2021 1:28 PM2021-06-16T13:28:25-04:002021-06-16T13:28:25-04:002021-06-16T10:31:00-04:00
