Can I request a Reassignment for PCS Orders with my Rank Justification?

I was sent a welcome letter from Alaska early before they actually cut my orders so I emailed the civilian coordinator Mrs. Knox to see if before she processes my orders, if she could give me anything CONUS?
If she cuts my orders it will be for an incoming Sergeant however I am to pin Staff Sergeant here July 1st, so could that be a good enough justification for her to do a reassignment since they haven't been sent for processing yet?
I spoke to one of my Branch Managers, a SFC up at HRC and he said that it is up to her for assignment selection and just to email her, which I did and am awaiting a response. He also said that I could do a DA 4187 for deletion and await new orders. I am confident that my chain of command up to my Battalion SGM would approve. How likely is it that the DA 4187 would be successful?

I am open to anything CONUS which I stated in the email, I am trying to stay within the US in order to make visitation with my son easier.

Call branch direct and explain the issue but usually they only will change orders when you are promoted. If there is a SSG slot in your acquiring unit OR there is a person of SSG rank that is leaving soon via discharge, school enroute, etc... they will not change your post but instead you will receive only a slot identifier for the new slot.

Sounds like your branch manager gave you your options. Also it’s hard to know what the coordinator will do. I’m assuming you really want to stay in the lower 48, but travel from Alaska should be pretty easy.

Do you know that the slot your requisition is tied to is a 13F2 slot? Have you looked at the requisition in EDAS? If you were promotable when you were placed on the assignment, you were likely placed on a 13F3 assignment.

Depends on who likes you from local CoC up to branch. If someone in that line hates you, you're going to AK whether you like it or not. And they will find a way to force it on you and justify it. THAT IS NOT how it is "supposed to work", but that's what happens. And if you're going to AK, I hope you have a better time than I did. My tour was CRAP! It IS possible that your assignment is an upgrade, though. You're "this rank", but your duty assignment is for the next rank or two up. That can easily be a good thing. But again...if you end up going, I hope your tour is MUCH BETTER than mine was!

You’re a 13F, they will take you regardless and you will be put in a targeting NCO/Team Chief or even a PSG slot. 13F2O and 3O are not easily given up due to the strength of the mos at those skill levels. You would need extenuating circumstances such as EFMP to not go to Alaska. Or go airborne

Also, I think you have to be within 30 or 60 days of your report date to submit for deletion of orders so with such little time you would be rolling the dice praying it gets approved in time. Call MSG Rivas he’s out branch manager and one of the best in the Army. You could also try an SFAB packet if you are CD complete for 3O level Chief time which many 13F2O already are.
