MOS on the list saids 13B, which is my current MOS. My question is, am I good to pin on?Can I pin on my rank if I made the list for SGT, but am still waiting on a decision from HRC for my MAR2 decision?2020-10-31T12:08:15-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member6455915<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Made the list for SGT. Regardless of weather you have a pinning ceremony or not. Otherwise you would be out of uniform.Response by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 31 at 2020 12:17 PM2020-10-31T12:17:12-04:002020-10-31T12:17:12-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6455979<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes you get to keep your rank and promotable status during a MAR2. HRC will change your MOS immediately upon their decision and give you an ASI of 4A, 4A means not qualified in your new MOS. As per 600-8-19 you'll remain promotable and keep your new promotion as long as you pass your new MOS training within a year.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 31 at 2020 12:29 PM2020-10-31T12:29:08-04:002020-10-31T12:29:08-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member6456308<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Every command is different; why not wait until you are promoted in front of your company. <br /><br />Honestly, you will have plenty of time to wear your rank. It's exciting to become an NCO finally; however, reach out to your company first line leader and ask them. <br /><br />Congratulations on the promotion keep up the enthusiasm and drive. Don't forget where you came from and continue to mentor and shape the lower enlisted.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 31 at 2020 2:28 PM2020-10-31T14:28:43-04:002020-10-31T14:28:43-04:00LTC John Griscom6456474<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would wait, but check your LES.Response by LTC John Griscom made Oct 31 at 2020 3:34 PM2020-10-31T15:34:11-04:002020-10-31T15:34:11-04:00SSgt Christophe Murphy6456679<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Maybe the Army plays things fast and loose but I wouldn’t recommend wearing rank until you are formally and officially promoted.Response by SSgt Christophe Murphy made Oct 31 at 2020 5:18 PM2020-10-31T17:18:47-04:002020-10-31T17:18:47-04:001LT William Clardy6456716<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The simple answer is: do you have orders promoting you to sergeant? If so, then you can start wearing the stripes, although commanders usually enjoy being the ones to pin them on you first while someone intones "Attention to orders".<br />But in the absence of those promotion orders, then you're still just a specialist.Response by 1LT William Clardy made Oct 31 at 2020 5:38 PM2020-10-31T17:38:53-04:002020-10-31T17:38:53-04:00Cpl Vic Burk6457018<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would say to be safe wait until the official promotion is presented to you. If not then no, you would be illegal as heck to pin on E-5. Just cool your jets until it shows up on your LES and you get pinned.Response by SSG Brian G. made Nov 1 at 2020 12:48 AM2020-11-01T00:48:01-04:002020-11-01T00:48:01-04:002020-10-31T12:08:15-04:00
