Can I go to a different recruiter?

I am trying to join the Army however it feels like my recruiter is stalling. Can I just go to another recruiter in the hopes of a more streamlined recruitment.

You absolutely can. A piece of advice. If you switch recruiters, break up the same way as you would with a girlfriend. Quick, painless, and no lingering relationship. Your current recruiter deserves the courtesy of being told you’re looking else where. Make sure he transfers your packet, or closes it. You don’t want two simultaneously running packets following you to MEPS. Instant headache.

And then just do it. Until you sign a contract and swear in, your recruiter works for you. Make him work for you. If he’s not meeting your needs (while fulfilling his mission), feel free to got to a recruiter that will. Just do it professionally.

Absolutely, you can.
There is only one reason for a recruiter to stall, assuming you are fully qualified to join and issue-free, and that has to do with quotas.
If so, you might find that the issue persists at other recruiting stations, since they are likely in the same unit.

Have you asked the question of your recruiter why it seems to be taking so long?
If you tell him you've been talking to the Navy, I'll bet he gets religion on moving your packet forward.

according to your last post you may be pending a medical waiver. That takes time. Don't jump around from recruiter to recruiter to try and beat the system. You will lose.

Yes but find another recruiter before breaking it off with the other one and tell the whole situation not just what you want them to hear!

No- If he has you entered into the system, then you are stuck, unless you can show the Recruiter Chain of Command that he is stalling.

Christopher K I Tried to Join the Army Initially but I was Underweight and they wouldn't waiver it. The Navy would. 42 Years Later I am more than Satisfied that I joined the Navy (21 Years in Navy Blue before I Retired)

I am going through something similar but I don’t even know if the recruiter or the station I’m working with, but I’ve been waiting for a medical waiver for 10 months and counting. I even told them to delete it all, I’m not even feeling it anymore.

Look, they do not have move at your speed. Yes you can change, but that may mean starting back from the beginning again. And no Bright folks it shouldn't be hard to just dump his packet on another recruiter, but it's a damn good way to lose what was being worked on! We DO NOT have to take anybody, it is not a RIGHT to enlist, its a privilege. You show NOTHING here as to why he might be stalling- Hell maybe your scores are too low for what you want, maybe that MOS is filled right now, Hell may that MOS is temp suspended. You want intelligent answers give facts. Yes the recruiter could be less than prime, but we won't know.
